FRUIT, TEA & A LITTLE CURIOSITY
Matcha smoothies. A different kind of green.
Matcha smoothie ideas for a fruit-forward glass, a thicker breakfast blend or a cocoa twist. Start with a clear plan for the liquid, fruit and powder so the next version is easy to repeat.

A matcha smoothie gives you another way to explore the tea: blended with fruit, milk, and the flavors you already enjoy. Think creamy banana, bright strawberry, mellow vanilla, or a little cocoa. Start with one simple combination, taste it, and adjust one ingredient at a time.
Choose your fruit, liquid and matcha separately, then adjust the blend to the texture you enjoy.
Choose your first combination
Banana & vanilla
Try banana with your preferred milk, separately prepared matcha, and a small amount of vanilla. Frozen banana is an option to explore if you want a thicker blend. Taste before adding sweetener, and adjust the banana if its flavor overwhelms the tea. For a different preparation, explore our banana matcha latte ideas.
Strawberry & oat
Combine strawberries, oat milk, and matcha for a fruit-led experiment. Try fresh and frozen strawberries in separate batches and compare the texture. Keep the fruit quantity consistent when changing milk or sweetener so you can tell what made the difference.
Mango & coconut
Explore mango with a coconut milk beverage and matcha. Check the package: a carton beverage and canned coconut milk can behave differently in a blender. Start with the product you have, then add liquid gradually if the mixture is too thick.
Cocoa & banana
Add a little unsweetened cocoa to a banana-and-milk base. Compare a small addition with a plain version; cocoa may become the dominant flavor. Adjust the cocoa before increasing the matcha.
Build a repeatable blend
Prepare the matcha with water using its maker’s guidance, then blend it with the other ingredients. Measure what you use and record the result. Add liquid in small steps when adjusting thickness. If you include protein powder, check its ingredients and serving directions, then taste before adding extra sweetener.
Use a blender suited to your ingredients and follow its instructions. A handheld milk frother has a different job; do not expect it to break down fruit pieces. Our mixing-tool guide explains the distinction.
